Behind The Scenes
With D1NZ Round 2 at Pukekohe Raceway in the bag, we take a peak behind the scenes at some of the cars and what goes on in the pitlane at a D1NZ round.
The British Drift Championship Super Pro round at Silverstone had been playing on my mind for a few weeks. The audience at the TRAX event would be the largest that the BDC would see throughout the season and the pressure of hosting a competition event in and amongst the allotted track time slots at the event is pretty high.
We cover a lot of drifting events all over the world here on Drifted. From New Zealand to New Jersey, the Philippines to Poland, the Ukraine to the UK, the sport of drifting is more recognisable worldwide than it ever has been. But strip all that down and each and every event comes down to one thing. The people behind it.
Of all the drift series in the world there is one I’ve always wanted to shoot. Widely regarded as the pinnacle of the sport, Formula D just looks special. So when the Gardella Racing team asked me if I’d like to shoot a round with them I didn’t need to be asked twice.
