It’s crunch-time in the 2012 Formula Drift season and every point counts as the driver chase down the title. We take a look back at one of the most picturesque rounds of the calendar – round five at Evergreen Speedway, Monroe, Washington.
It’s incredible how large the sport has grown in the past coupe years, and how the cars have changed to quickly. ProAm drivers were moved to their own separate area as the main pit area was filled to the brim with all the Pro drivers. Every year there have been an increase in the amount of drivers competing for that top 32 spot, and its great to see so many new faces and cars out to battle.
It’s desktop time! Current Formula Drift points leader Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s 2013 Ford Mustang RTR lies in wait after practice at Formula Drift Seattle. The Monster is powered by a 6.7 litre Ford Racing/Raush V8 pushing 800bhp through Falken Tires. Download the high-res desktops after the jump!
Forum Fest: I would say the biggest and best event in the Northwest. A combination of Drift, Drag and Show, at Pacific Raceways. A lot of hard work is put in by the guys at NWMotiv; they made this event possible.
I had the opportunity to come out and shoot my buddy David Wheaton’s car a few weeks ago and had a blast in the shop shooting the famous “Mustache Mobile”. I interviewed him shortly after to get an insight into the back story and history of his latest build.
The annual Nissan Fest has grown year upon year and had outgrown it’s previous venue. Insert Evergreen Speedway, home to drifters around the Northwest and the birthing grounds of many now Formula Drift licensed pro drivers. More after the jump….
That should have said “2011 in review” But come on, that was over 3 months ago! Busy have I been these past few months, but I was finally able to get all this together and either way, couldn’t resist showcasing some of my favorite photos from last season no matter how many months into the new year it is.
ProAm round 5 and Grassroots round 4 was hosted at Evergreen Speedway this past month, deciding who would be moving on next year and also the awarding of Formula Drift licenses. The game has changed in Washington and next year should be amazing as we here watch our fellow drifters on their pursuit to the pro life.
Well the infamous Bigfoot never made an appearance at Pacific Grand Prix (the heat must have been too much for all that fur), but the driving that went down in Kent, Washington this past weekend was equally as legendary…
It’s Wednesday! So in the name of alliteration here’s another Wallpaper to adorn your computer or phone screen with. Except we failed on the alliteration and called them Desktops. So it’s Desktop Wednesday! It kind of works.
XDC was new to me and had no idea what to expect. The fancy fliers promoted cars and girls, and that was enough to get any guy to attend. It was a combination drift event and car show, both being hosted on track and the more popular than ever Pacific Grand Prix Motorsports Park.
Professional driving returns to the Northwest and we were all set for a crazy Top 16 at Formula Drift, Monroe, Washington.
I swear I’m still picking bits of rubber out of my hair and ears after Round 5 of Formula D in Monroe, Washington. With a combination of beautiful weather and a sellout crowd, the drivers had an opportunity to put on an amazing show and they did not disappoint.
If you enjoyed part one of Pacific Grand Prix’s Friday Night Slides, here’s Part II!
Pacific Grand Prix motorsports park continues to showcase what it has to offer for the drifting comunity in the pacific northwest on its million dollar go kart track…
