Had a manic week at work, did over 45 hours just Thursday, Friday and Saturday alone. Also didn’t have any internet access at the Hotel I was staying in, which became a problem… As I needed to organise a shoot for the very next day in Liverpool. Thankfully the guys on SXOC pulled through and I managed to take a few snaps.
Following on from the conclusion of the seperate Semi-Pro and Pro BDC Second rounds, the season is shaping up to be a good one! 2010 points tables after the jump….
Here’s my second instalment of various shots from the round 2 of the Maxxis BDC at Silverstone, But first things first I’ll have to let you in on a little secret…
Where’s this weather come from? It hasn’t let off since last weekend at Castle Combe, dry circuits meant for plenty of smoke, but dry paddocks meant for plenty of smiley faces (possibly due to the sheer amount of near nudity?). So here’s my first instalment of the action from Round2 of the Maxxis BDC.
After drinking copious amounts of alcohol until the early hours of Saturday morning, the last thing I wanted to do was spend all day around rev limiters, screamer pipes, screeching tires and Bee*R’s. BUT, I did, and I’m glad I did, thanks to Roo getting me there.
Due time for me to update here, this time from Round 2 of Powerdrift, which was held at a small track – previously an airfield strip – called Gardermoen Raceway the 15th and 16th of May.
At 8pm on Friday, May 7th, the battle between the top Formula Drift Pro Am guys from Atlanta and the south east began. It was intense, heart pounding, edge of your seat drift action.
35 miles north of Atlanta there’s a town called Braselton, Georgia. Road Atlanta, a world class 2.54-mile, 12-turn road course sits in the middle of this small town. On the 10th turn, Formula Drift drivers begin their battle to the winners podium. The track is set up with a horse shoe turn where drivers must hit 3 clipping points. This track is fast, difficult and drivers can lose all their momentum in a single turn. Around the horseshoe, smoke, dirt and tire fly into the crowd as drivers whip their cars down the hill, ending up back where they came.
I woke to a sun shining crisp winters morning with my buddy Roo waiting to pick me up so we could head down to the D-SPEC skid day. As we got there, Jack (the owner of this Zenki) was taking to the track. Unfortunatly, the tire on the front left had come off the bead and sent jack understeering into some bumpy terrain.
Hey guys, ok here’s my coverage of the second round of the Maxxis Tyres British Drift Championship .. This was the Semi Pro Class only held at Llandow Circuit, Wales. Congratulations to Ian Phillips for the victory.
This weekend saw the Semi-Pro second round of the 2010 Maxxis British Drift Championship. The event was held at the popular Llandow Circuit in South Wales and the weather forecast for the weekend was looking less than promising! Nonetheless, everyone was in high spirits – Llandow had always delievered fantastic weather and fantastic driving in the past and the way the day was shaping up we looked set to get both again.
All eyes shifted now to the second round of the 2010 Lateral Drift Championship. After being eliminated in the top 8, Raymond Ronquillo of Team R33 Toyo Tires seeked revenge by being the man on top on the second round for the Pro division. (more…)
