EVENT: D1NZ 2015: Round Two
The Demon Energy D1NZ Championship would stop by at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland City for round two of the series, with another custom built circuit and lots of concrete walls to play with. After a wild and unpredictable first round nobody was expecting anything less than an amazing show again here in Auckland. With the new car setups properly shaken down and the drivers perhaps better prepared we were in for a great day of drifting. Add to this the Pro battles running late into the night making for an awesome atmosphere under lights. -

SNAPSHOTS: Ben Jenkins – D1NZ’s Latest Young Gun
Getting up at 6am on a Saturday is comparable to scooping poop off the bottom of my shoes after a Monday afternoon from hell. That is, of course, unless the word ‘Drifting’ is involved. Tossing back my large mocha, I arrived at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park and watched on as Ben eagerly unloaded his newly touched-up Silvia. -
EVENT: D1NZ 2014 Grand Final: Round 6
The grand final of the Cody’s D1NZ national drifting championship for the 2014 season had finally arrived. It had been a highly competitive fight for the last five rounds; the final round would be held under lights to mix things up and would either make or break a team’s season campaign. -
EVENT: D1NZ 2014: Round Five
Round five of the Cody’s D1NZ National Drifting Championship would see the series travel south to Christchurch city in New Zealand’s South Island. Faced with either an 18 hour road trip or the expense of shipping the car down, it was a big commitment from the teams. -
Paul’s AE811 – Not all as it seems
I still remember Paul's Levin staring back at me the when I looked through the eyepiece of my camera for the first time a couple of years back. As per usual in the New Zealand car scene, not all vehicles are as they seem; with an AE111 heart and AE86 driveline, this particular Levin was not your typical (excuse my pun) Black and White '85. -
EVENT: D1NZ 2014: Round Four
A wet track welcomed us to Taupo for round four of the Cody’s D1NZ National Drifting Championship. Despite the weather this round would be an important stepping stone on the championship calendar. Most drivers were looking to capitalise on the familiar track and gain valuable points they had missed out on in the previous rounds. Meanwhile, Mad Mike Whiddett would be hoping to extend his considerable lead overall. -
EVENT: D1NZ 2014: Round Three
While the rest of the world is still battling wintry conditions, over here in New Zealand we're making the most of our summer months while we can. It was no surprise the crowd favourite Tauranga round of the Cody's D1NZ National Drifting Championship had made a return this year, after the 2013 event was completely sold out... -

EVENT: D1NZ 2013 Grand Final: Taupo
After an agonisingly long wait it was finally time to see which driver would be crowned champion of the 2012-2013 Cody’s D1NZ National Drifting Championship. The difference in points after round five was very slim, with Fanga Dan, Mike Whiddett, Andrew Redward and Curt Whittaker all within reach of the season trophy. Here's how it went down at a very cold Taupo Motorsport Park… -
EVENT: Cody’s D1NZ 2013 Round Four
Hampton Downs has got to be one circuit that everyone looks forward to on the Cody’s D1NZ season calendar. With its convenient location near NZ’s largest city this brand new track is used frequently as a testing ground for all kinds of motorsport. All the drivers are very familiar with the right-hand entry, switching up and over the hill to a larger left turn and finally a manji style exit on the straight… -
EVENT: Cody’s D1NZ 2013 Round Three
It was hard to find a fault with the plan for Round 3 of the Cody’s D1NZ National Drifting Championship. Held in sunny Tauranga on another technically challenging, custom built circuit it was bound to be a success from the get go. However it was the first time a drift event had been held in Tauranga city and nobody was sure what kind reaction the event would receive. -
Team D Spec 570z
When Sky Zhao announced early last year that he was building a 350z for the 2013 season of D1NZ, I couldn’t really hide my excitement. Nicknamed the 570z after the choice of engine conversion - the Nissan is now running a 5.7L LS1 along with tons of parts shipped over from the US. -
EVENT: Cody’s D1NZ 2013 Round Two
It’s been far too long since I last got out amongst some drifting, over half a year in fact. Tuning in to online coverage of overseas events has been great but there’s nothing quite like attending an event yourself and taking in the atmosphere on offer. That’s why I was looking forward to Round 2 of the Cody’s D1NZ Championship held in Whangarei on a new custom built track, with many rebuilt and redesigned cars for the 2012/2013 season. -
EVENT: Cody’s D1NZ 2013 Round One
The Cody's D1NZ National Drifting Championship is back! Round 1 kicked off the new season last weekend at Manfield Park Raceway, located in Fielding, New Zealand. EVENT: D1NZ Round 5: Whangarei
Round 5 of the Cody’s D1NZ National Drifting Championship was surrounded with hype and excitement as the series returned to Whangarei after a 2 year hiatus. Located in Northland, Whangarei is arguably the birthplace of drifting here in New Zealand and a place many of the drivers call home. This combined with an up close and personal street track meant it was no surprise that fans turned up in the thousands! -

D-Spec Skid day
I woke to a sun shining crisp winters morning with my buddy Roo waiting to pick me up so we could head down to the D-SPEC skid day. As we got there, Jack (the owner of this Zenki) was taking to the track. Unfortunatly, the tire on the front left had come off the bead and sent jack understeering into some bumpy terrain. -
