Adam LZ And Collete Clear The Air On Breakup Rumors
In what might be the gossipiest week in drifting history, drifting YouTubers Adam LZ and Collete have finally confirmed their relationship status on social media, and it’s not the news most fans were hoping for.

Adam reshared Collete’s Instagram post, which reads, “Adam and I are no longer together.” The message suggests the split was mutual, with the pair stating they “care deeply but grew in different directions.”
They also clarified there’s “no drama, no resentment” between them. For now, Collete appears to still be at the compound, hinting that the breakup wasn’t messy.
The announcement doesn’t come as much of a surprise to fans who were paying attention during the Englishtown round, where LZ took the win at the weekend. Online speculation had already reached a boiling point before the event, and it only intensified as the weekend unfolded.
Despite Formula DRIFT commentator Jarod DeAnda carefully avoiding any mention of them as a couple, and both parties keeping quiet, the tension was noticeable. Fans picked up on the fact they didn’t park together in the paddock, in a clear departure from their usual routine.

Then, heading into Collete’s PROSPEC battles, LZ was still nowhere to be seen. Instead, her mom was there for the opening ceremony.

Shortly after, Collete was involved in a serious crash, which left her E46 stuck on top of the barriers, in a situation awkwardly similar to LZ’s last season. Despite this, it appears LZ didn’t head to her team pit area to see if she was okay.

When it came to the PRO Top 16, there was another pretty clear absence where you’d usually see umbrella girl, Collete.

Then, after Adam landed his second-ever FD win, the whole team was there… Besides, well, you guessed it!

After YouTube commenters suggested Collete wouldn’t be able to “pay for FD with [A]dam gone,” she finally took the bait, stating “I’ve always run my own program… with my cars, partners and team 👍” in response.

For many, that provided all the clarity they needed to hear, but the likes of Reddit was still buzzing and circulating with rumors.
This wasn’t helped by the fact that neither of them had said a word about the situation up until now. Their decision to address it publicly seems to have answered many lingering questions.

After nearly five years together, it’s a sad moment for fans of one of drifting’s most visible couples. However, both Adam and Collete appear committed to their individual Formula DRIFT programs and YouTube channels.
Since Englishtown, both have continued putting out content and showing no signs of slowing down.
