If you missed the recent Steam Racing Fest deals, don’t panic, as there’s a second chance to grab the same offer on Wreckfest 2 and Assetto Corsa EVO, but only for a limited time.

Both Early Access games are currently 20% off on Steam, bringing Wreckfest 2 down to $23.99 (£19.99) and AC EVO to $31.99 (£26.39), with both deals ending next Monday, September 29.

If you’re tempted by Wreckfest 2, there’s also a ‘Wreckfest Franchise Bundle’ with 40% off to consider if you want the original Wreckfest with both Season Pass DLCs and Wreckfest 2.

Which one’s right for you?

These are wildly different games, so you’ll likely figure this one out pretty quickly.

Wreckfest 2 combines fun yet respectable driving physics with high-intensity action and incredible crash details. With modes ranging from demolition derbies to folk racing, your panels will crumple, parts will fall off, and you can completely write off your opponents.

You’ll smash and crash your way to victory across different tracks with various surfaces while your insane, aggressive opponents try their best to total your ride.

Assetto Corsa EVO, on the other hand, takes a very different approach. It’s a far more sensible, intense, and serious sim racer with stunning graphics and incredibly realistic driving physics.

Although it’s technically the successor to the original Assetto Corsa, it’s failed to capture the sim drifting crowd since you can’t add third-party mods like you could with the original (yet, anyway.) That means limited content, tuning, or upgrades.

Although they’ve been teasing new features, such as an open-world mode around the Nürburgring, the Early Access rollouts haven’t been slow to progress. That said, if you’re happy to be patient and want to see what the latest sim racer offers, it’s a great opportunity to grab a bargain.

Our recommendation(s)

As you probably guessed, smashing your way to victory won’t go down quite as well in AC EVO as it will in Wreckfest 2!

For pure entertainment with a more comprehensive package, Wreckfest 2 wins hands down. If you want to perfect your racing skills, Assetto Corsa EVO is worth trying, but be prepared to run out of content quickly.

You can check out both deals on the Assetto Corsa EVO and Wreckfest 2 Steam pages.

For drifting specifically, we still recommend picking up the original Assetto Corsa, which has a whopping 75% off at just $4.99. Given that the original continues to dominate the Steam player charts, it seems we’re not alone.
