Gymkhana’s Back: New Teaser Shows The Brataroo In Full Shred
We just got our first teaser for the upcoming Gymkhana: Aussie Shred film featuring Travis Pastrana and the bonkers Subaru Brataroo 9500 Turbo.
Billed as the “wildest Gymkhana film to date” with the “craziest Gymkhana car” yet, here’s the first taste of what to expect from the upcoming 13th Gymkhana.
This clip might be the best look we’ll get before Aussie Shred officially drops on the Hoonigan YouTube channel in early December 2025.
Dubbed the ‘Brataroo’, the custom carbon-fiber weapon is Pastrana’s third bespoke Subaru Gymkhana build, based on a 1978 Subaru BRAT and developed by Subaru of America and Vermont SportsCar.
Recently unveiled at the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, it packs a turbocharged 2.0-liter Subaru flat-four with 670 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque, all-wheel drive, and a six-speed SADEV sequential gearbox. It’s the highest-revving Gymkhana car yet, capable of spinning beyond 9,500 rpm.
Standout details include unique adjustable front fender louvers to manage tire smoke and assist with airflow, plus a dual rear wing setup for maximum control, both seen in action for the first time in the footage.
Not to forget the AM/FM radio, too!
When we first saw the early teasers, I stated it was a shame they didn’t opt for the iconic rear bed seats that the BRAT is famed for.
However, I was (thankfully) wrong. The initial images didn’t show the rear bed, but it all becomes clear in the teaser clip.
Pastrana’s Nitro Circus teammate, 11-time X Games gold medalist Ryan Williams, also features in the teaser, visibly stunned after a passenger run in the Brataroo. Exactly what I hoped to see.
Judging by his comment, “@rwilly regretting his life decisions to get in the back was one of the highlights for me 😂 🙌,” Travis clearly agrees.
There’s not long to wait until we get to see Pastrana “shredding famed landmarks” across Australia, with confirmed and teased locations including Sydney Harbour (Bridge/Opera House), Mount Panorama at Bathurst, and undoubtedly much more yet to be revealed.
And because it’s in Australia, of course there are kangaroos. Let’s hope they’re not being used as clipping points!
