‘JDM: Japanese Drift Master’ Is Now Cheaper Than Ever, If You’re Quick
Table of Contents
Popular drifting game, JDM: Japanese Drift Master, is currently offering a 30% discount. This brings it to its cheapest price ever on Steam – just $24.49 – even lower than the recent ‘Steam Racing Fest’ price.

But you’ll need to be quick, as the offer ends September 29 at 10:00 AM PDT.
What is JDM: Japanese Drift Master?
JDM is an open-world touge-based drifting (and racing) game where you’ll get to drift your way through stunning Japanese-style streets, towns, and mountain passes.

As you probably guessed from the name, it’s inspired by the Japanese (known as JDM) drifting culture.
Set in the fictional Japanese region of ‘Guntama Prefecture’ (inspired by the real-world Honshu region), you get to explore around 250 km, along with dynamic weather and a day/night cycle.
Why it’s worth considering
The game is suitable for younger or inexperienced players looking for their first taste of drifting action by selecting the forgiving ‘Arcade’ physics.

Once you’ve improved, you can step up to ‘Simcade’, which is less forgiving but offers a great chance to take your drifting skills to the next level.
The storyline alone is unique and interesting, where you begin as a foreigner (gaijin) trying to break into the legendary Japanese drifting scene. You do this by proving your drifting and racing skills through a variety of challenges to earn the respect of the locals, with the story presented in a ‘manga’ comic book style.
Along the way, you’ll compete in drift competitions, grip races, and drag races, along with unique side missions like ‘sushi delivery’ (which may sound familiar!), where you earn tips for drifting.
There’s a selection of licensed cars from manufacturers such as Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, and Honda, along with plenty of tuning upgrades and customization options.
There’s never been a better time to buy
The initial rollout for the game took place in May 2025, and it’s currently only available for PC, despite many fans requesting a console version.
Initially, JDM’s devs, Gaming Factory, took on an ambitious task. As with most initial rollouts, things weren’t immediately perfect, and reviews were mixed.

Despite this, the game has more recently earned its ‘Mostly Positive’ rating on Steam thanks to listening to the needs of fans and rolling out frequent improvements.
The most recent huge update was the substantial Physics 2.0 upgrade, which implemented drastic changes to the in-game physics, while also improving various aspects for steering wheel players.
Since then, they rolled out another Hotfix (August 1), followed by the most recent Patch 1.6.2, which arrived two weeks later to iron out the fresh niggles.
With all these updates, and many more undoubtedly on the way, it means that JDM is better than ever. Combined with the biggest discount to date, there’s never been a better time to buy.
Here’s the team’s ‘Complete Beginner’s Guide’ to give you an idea of what you can expect. However, it might be a good idea to quickly skim through it if you don’t want to spoil the surprises too much!
