Latest CarX Drift Racing Online 2 Damage Teasers Reveal Fresh Details
Table of Contents
CarX Tech just dropped another teaser for their damage system, and it’s looking absolutely awesome.

Despite getting closer to the end of the year, the team is still “planning to enter Early Access around autumn 2025 and a full launch roughly at the end of 2025,” so we must be getting close at this point.
What to expect from the damage system

Unlike most games, where the damage is cosmetic (or even non-existent), it’ll further challenge you by impacting your wallet and performance. “The damage model is designed to [..] challenge the player” and “car repair is one of your constant expenses.”
When you crash, “body panels will deform, and the loss of parts will change the car’s weight and weight distribution in real-time.” That means damage has a drastic effect on how your car handles.

This is due to the implications of crashing on the suspension system: “During collisions, the point of force application and the impact force are taken into account, and strong hits will affect toe and camber.”

For the first time, the team is working on incorporating a variety of body materials as well. “Different types of materials are also being developed – for example, plastic and carbon/kevlar” that “will differ in visual deformation, weight, durability, and other characteristics.”
You also need to consider general wear and tear
Alongside damage, other aspects of your car’s wear and tear will require attention, too, as “tires are considered a consumable resource and must be purchased.”
Each vehicle component gradually deteriorates with use. As parts wear out, they’ll start to perform worse.
If you completely ignore maintenance and let parts wear out too much, they’ll break entirely and stop working altogether.

We shouldn’t have to wait much longer
The CarX team stated that the game is already “fully playable” in its current state, with career mode and multiplayer available. However, the competitive side will be expanded during Early Access.
Xbox and PlayStation players will be in for a slightly longer wait, with the team stating it won’t arrive before the “second half of 2026.”
