9 New Features Coming To JDM: Japanese Drift Master v1.7.0
Table of Contents
Gaming Factory just announced the latest major update to JDM: Japanese Drift Master, with ‘Patch 1.7.0’ bringing a massive selection of new features and improvements.

The update arrives today at 7 PM CET (10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM UK). If you’re quick, there’s a 30% limited-time discount on Steam to celebrate the release.
Here’s the preview trailer before we dive into our favorite new features:
1. Two Brand New Tracks
Hakome Stadium

Bringing Drift Masters vibes to JDM, this transforms a stadium into the ultimate drifting (or racing) challenge.
You can access this venue from the back entrance to the Stadium in Ichikara East, creating a unique arena when you want a break from the game’s typical open-world experience.
Takekaze Tōge

Let’s face it, you can never have too many touge layouts! Takekaze Tōge is situated at the base of a volcano, nestled within a bamboo forest. This new track is accessible via a newly added road on the North-Western section of the map.
Both locations can also be accessed through the open world or via ‘Challenge Mode’, and they’ve been added to the leaderboards for competitive players.
2. New Nissan GT-R R35

The GT-R EBA is now available and is completely free to all players, along with six different body kits to unlock. This version is based on the final iteration of the R35 GT-R before production (sadly) ended, featuring 566 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque.
While it uses the stock AWD layout (like the real-world GT-R), you can upgrade to the RWD drivetrain for tail-happy drifting action.
3. Advanced wheel/rim customization

You can now make independent adjustments to front and rear wheels, including rim diameter, width adjustments, and offset options.

You can change tire profiles between low, medium, and high settings, modify tire width, and adjust spacers. You can even alter the rim lip type for some pretty wild setups, as well as some hilariously questionable ones!
However, it’s worth noting that not all wheels support every adjustment – only three-part rims will have the complete tuning options unlocked.
4. New side story campaign

The new campaign is one for the Civic fanboiz, introducing the tale of ‘Tiger’, whose humble beginnings lead to legendary status, followed by a “heartbreaking tragedy.”
The campaign introduces nine completely new events, with a total of 11 races, accompanied by fresh manga panels.
You can access the story via a dedicated marker in the open world, which unlocks after Chapter 02, Mission 01.
Completing the entire ‘Tiger’ campaign rewards you with the custom-tuned Civic and unique livery.
5. Side mission improvements
Sushi Delivery side missions now let players use their own cars instead of being restricted to specific rides.
Underground Races have received weather indicators and rebalanced the difficulty for rainy conditions.
6. Performance/load time optimizations
Significant performance improvements have been rolled out across the entire game, with ‘Port’ and ‘Ichikara’ receiving the most attention.
Thankfully, the past loading screens are no longer an issue when launching stores (Tuning Shop, Car Setup) from the main menu.
7. XeSS 2 support
Intel’s XeSS 2 image upscaling technology has been integrated, running version 2.1.1.1 with Frame Generation and Low Latency features. This will be enabled by default on AMD and Intel GPUs.
8. DLSS multi-frame generation
Multi-frame generation technology has been added for Nvidia’s DLSS systems, specifically compatible with RTX 5xxx generation graphics cards.
The feature is disabled by default but can be manually activated through the ‘Graphics Options’ menu for those wanting to push frame rates higher.
9. Upcoming DLC – ‘Made In USA’

JDM’s new ‘Made in USA’ DLC is scheduled for release this November, and will include 6 completely new (unlicensed) American muscle cars, along with 30 unique tuning parts, bundled for $5.99 USD.

It’s something to look forward to for fans who want something different from the JDM cars, but for now, you’ll need to guess what they are based on. (These Dodge Challenger and Mustang “lookalikes” should be a giveaway!)

- Ironvale Thunderbolt T40
- Ironvale Stallion ’69
- Taipan
- Delray Vanquisher TR
- Delray Venom
- Falcon HellFeather
For now, you can add the ‘Made in USA’ DLC to your Steam wishlist.
