Where To Find Forza Horizon 5 Solar Panels

Are you looking for the ultimate areas within the vast Mexican landscapes for some solar panel smashing? We’ve got you covered with this guide.

forza horizon 5 solar panels

Introduction

Racing games can become very repetitive very quickly, which can’t be helped, especially when most serious racing titles feature events and races that will have you driving one car around the same track for up to 50 laps at a time to get rewards.

Forza Horizon 5 tries to turn away from these types of in-game content. Instead, FH5 offers fun Hot Wheels-esque challenges and races with players racing through traffic in the middle of town in customized street cars—wrestling through the Mexican swamps onboard tricked-out AWD trucks or smashing various objects around beautiful Mexico.

With the content that Turn 10/Playground Games pushes out for Forza Horizon 5, players will be hard-pressed not to find new and exciting ways to earn rewards in-game. After all, rewards and workarounds such as Wheelspins and Super Wheelspins are the most reliable way of making money fast in Forza Horizon 5.

One recurring event that you can find in Forza Horizon 5 is the solar panel events which ask you to destroy or drive through several solar panels on board a particular car to reap exciting rewards.

These events only come once in a while, and the requirements to complete the Solar Panel-related events vary from one event to another.

Some instances will require you to destroy a specific number of solar panels onboard a particular car under a time limit. Other event instances will only really require you to destroy a set number of Solar Panels with any vehicle.

Knowing where to find the solar panel facility in Forza Horizon 5 will help you complete these challenges quickly, so you can reap the exciting rewards that are up for grabs in these events. And for events that don’t require a specific car, we have a few tips you can use to pick out the best cars for the job.

These events are some of the easiest challenges in Forza Horizon 5, and we have made it even simpler for you in this guide.

Seasonal Challenges

You will likely come across solar panel events in two ways in Forza Horizon 5 – Seasonal Challenges and the Total Eclipse Accolade in-game.

If you’ve been playing Forza Horizon for a while now, you will know that the game cycles through an in-game seasonal system, where available events change with the current season. Check out this quick video by STEVIO2175 on YouTube to get a better idea.

Seasonal challenges are consistent in terms of content, which means you’ll likely encounter off-road challenges and road racing events in the summer, for example.

As for the solar panel seasonal challenges, these often come out during the Summer season, which makes a ton of sense since these forza horizon 5 solar panels probably work best when the sun is out.

Some solar panel-related Forzathon events have come out since November of 2021. The ‘Shocking’ Forzathon daily challenge released in November required players to destroy 20 solar panels in 20 seconds. Then there’s the ‘Lights Out’ challenge released in January, which required players to smash 25 solar panels for 25,000 CR. More recently, the ‘Power Trip’ Forzathon Daily Challenge required players to destroy 10 solar panels in a Retro Muscle Car.

The rewards you can get from these Forzathon and Daily Challenges will vary from one event to another. The good news is that you can always expect these types of events to come out in the Summertime in-game.

Be sure to check out the Forzathon challenges every week, so you don’t miss out on these fun solar panel events in Forza Horizon 5.

Total Eclipse Accolade

On the other hand, a specific Forza Horizon 5 mission also requires you to destroy a few solar panels to unlock an Accolade in-game – the Total Eclipse Accolade.

1995 mitsubishi eclipse gsx forza horizon edition

With the Total Eclipse Accolade, players are required to destroy 100 solar panels in Forza Horizon 5. But there’s a catch – players can only complete the accolade onboard the 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX.

To make things more interesting, you might have to take a few trips to and from the solar panels exact location to complete this mission since the solar panel facility in-game only holds less than 100 solar panels at any given time.

You can complete this Accolade in one of two ways. First, you can go and smash the first set of solar panels at the solar panel facility. After you’ve cleared the area of solar panels, Fast Travel to a random spot on the map, then go back to the solar panel facility. Rinse and repeat. Do this until you have destroyed 100 solar panels onboard the 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX.

The second method is more simple and will only require you to use a custom-made event by CCROWNY.

If you didn’t know yet, you can also clear the Accolades and achievements in Forza Horizon 5 through third-party custom maps. These maps are made by community members who want to help other players complete challenges faster in-game.

Custom-map makers can spawn a variety of objects in the custom map (solar panels included) to give other players a straightforward way to complete challenges that require players to destroy or drive through objects.

CCROWNY’s custom-made solar panels map was made to specifically complete the Total Eclipse Accolade in Forza Horizon 5, so expect to find a bunch of solar panels and nothing else within the custom-made map.

With that said, simply navigate to the Event Blueprint section under the Creative Hub tab in the pause menu and enter the following Share Code to access the custom map – 169 701 188

Forza Horizon 5 Solar Panels Location

Now that you have a good idea about when you can expect to find solar panel-related events in Forza Horizon 5, all you need to know is where to find those solar panels on the map.

Fortunately for you, you won’t have to look too far, as there is only one solar panel location in Forza Horizon 5, and it sits very close to the Horizon Festival site in-game.

If you open up your map in-game, look closely toward the southeast area from the Horizon Festival location. If you’re still confused, just follow the Sierra Verde Dam logo on the map and go north from there, and you will find a tiny cluster of gray rectangles on the map.

Assuming you’ve never been to the solar panels facility in Forza Horizon 5, there should be an XP board on the map, which you can mark and set your route automatically by left-clicking on the XP logo on the map. Simply follow the blue line on the mini-map to arrive at the solar panel facility.

As soon as you arrive at the solar panels facility, you can start ramming through those solar panels and immediately work through the required number of solar panels for your specific event.

If you end up short on solar panels, just Fast Travel to a random location on the map and come back to the Forza Horizon 5 solar panels facility, where you’ll find a complete set of solar panels that you can take down once again.

Alternatively, you can try the Share Code (169 701 188) we have mentioned in the previous section to load up a custom map full of solar panels that you can smash.

Best Cars to Smash Forza Horizon 5 Solar Panels

If you’re trying to complete the Total Eclipse Accolade, you have no choice but to purchase a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX and smash Solar Panels with that vehicle. The same goes for Forzathon challenges and Daily Challenges that specifically require you to take a specific car to smash the solar panels with.

However, if the challenge or event you’re trying to complete doesn’t require you to use any specific car, then you can take your favorite drift or drag car to smash the solar panels, no problem.

Still, if you’re looking to just get these solar panel events out of the way so you can continue drifting around Mexico’s mountains on board the best drift cars in the game, then you have to use the appropriate car for the job.

Take a car that has a decent amount of horsepower and preferably something with all-wheel drive. Why? Because you’re going to be smashing solar panels, which are still considered objects in Forza Horizon 5.

If you didn’t know yet, running into objects in Forza Horizon 5 will slow your car down depending on the size and relative weight of the object. And since you’re going to be destroying multiple full-size solar panels, you’ll need a car with a powerful engine for the job.

A more powerful vehicle should have no problems destroying solar panels. Cars such as the Ford Hoonicorn Mustang can accelerate fast enough, saving you the hassle of driving a few meters away from the solar panels to muster the speed and momentum needed to destroy the solar panels.

On the other hand, big and heavy trucks such as the Nissan Titan Warrior Concept 2016 might seem like the obvious choice when going solar panel smashing in-game with its AWD and hefty body, but this cannot be farther from the truth.

In practice, full-sized trucks have difficulties accelerating from a standstill and cannot carry the speed and momentum required to consistently row through solar panels in-game.

When smashing solar panels at the Solar Panel facility, you will be forced to take several trips outside the facility to build up speed and momentum to row through solar panels in the Nissan Titan Warrior Concept truck – a tedious and frustrating experience.

In situations where the solar panel smashing event has a time limit, the inappropriate vehicle can cost you time and the event rewards, forcing you to restart the event all over again.

Save yourself time and effort, and just use a car that has great acceleration to clear solar panels as quickly as possible.

The BMW X5M Forza Horizon Edition, Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, and Ford Hoonicorn Mustang are some of our recommended solar panel-smashing vehicles in Forza Horizon 5. These cars have monstrous acceleration and AWD, which should help keep all tires spinning while plowing through enough panels in-game. With Forza Horizon 5’s impressive car list, there will be a ton of other new cars that are similar to the ones we have listed below.

BMW X5 M Forza Horizon Edition

The BMW X5 M Forza Horizon Edition needs no introduction – it easily made the top five of our fastest drag cars for Forza Horizon 5 list and features some of the best Acceleration and Launch stats of any car in the game.

bmw x5m forza horizon edition

Thanks to its all-wheel-drive system and powerful acceleration and launch ability, the BMW X5 M Forza Horizon Edition will make quick work of solar panel events in Forza Horizon 5.

The X5M’s impressive handling will also help you pinpoint your preferred route around the solar panel facility, so you can maximize your solar panel clearing efficiency.

Ford Hoonicorn Mustang

The Hoonicorn Mustang is a classic Forza Horizon car commonly associated with drifting. It even made top three on our list on the best drift cars for Forza Horizon 5.

That aside, the Ford Hoonicorn Mustang’s impressive power and very controllable lateral movement behavior make it great for mowing through solar panels in Forza Horizon 5 as well.

If you take the Ford Hoonicorn Mustang for a quick spin at the Solar Panels facility, you will be surprised by just how willing it is to keep its rear tires spinning without losing too much momentum. With a decent drift tune, the Hoonicorn Mustang is arguably going to be the most fun car you can take to solar panel events.

DeBerti Tacoma

When we asked you to avoid big and heavy trucks like the plague when going on a solar panel smashing spree, we meant stock, full-sized trucks such as the TRD Tacoma, F150 Raptor, and the Nissan Titan Warrior Concept.

deberti toyota tacoma trd forza horizon edition

All three of those trucks weigh much more and have less power than the custom-built DeBerti Toyota Tacoma TRD, which weighs just 1458kg and packs 900 horsepower from its NASCAR-derived V8.

You need power and momentum to keep plowing through rows of solar panels at the solar panel facility – all of which the DeBerti Toyota Tacoma TRD possesses under its wicked custom chassis.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

You will rarely see a supercar off-road, let alone a one-off such as the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.

lamborghini sesto elemento

Fortunately, Forza Horizon 5 lets us take any vehicle in-game to just about any type of terrain in-game, and, who knows, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento’s permanent AWD system might just be great for exploring swamps around Mexico.

Jokes aside, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento’s permanent all-wheel-drive system helps it accelerate from 0-60 MPH in less than three seconds and gives it just enough added grip to still be maneuverable around the solar panel facility. While its light body (under 1000 kg) might not be great for continuously smashing through objects in-game, the Sesto Elemento more than makes up for it with its great handling and awesome acceleration.

M12S Warthog CST

Now if you want to look like you’re out to smash things around Mexico, you’ll want to get your hands on the M12S Warthog CST.

amg transport dynamics m12s warthog cst forza horizon edition

The M12S Warthog CST’s weight and power make it the best car to use when going on missions that require you to drive through objects to destroy them – solar panels included.

Despite its hefty weight, the M12S Warthog CST will do 0-60 in just five seconds. In addition, the M12S Warthog CST scores a perfect ten in the Offroad stat along with decent Launch and Acceleration figures that can help it plow through those solar panels like they are nothing.

Conclusion

Solar Panel events will come and go for as long as Forza Horizon 5 servers are up and running. You can expect to find them in Forzathon seasonal challenges, specifically Summer challenges, where you’ll be tasked to clear a number of solar panels onboard a specific type of vehicle.

Knowing where the solar panels are located in Forza Horizon 5 will make completing the Total Eclipse Accolade and various Seasonal Challenges a breeze. Fortunately, the solar panel facility can be found in the middle of the map just southeast of the main Horizon Festival site.

Depending on the Accolade or Seasonal Challenge requirement, you might have to break a specific number of solar panels on board a particular car. Ensure that you have checked the event requirements before going to the solar panel facility, so you don’t waste time smashing panels on board the wrong car.

If the seasonal event you’re trying to complete does not require you to use a particular car to complete the event/challenge, you will have an easier time mowing through the solar panels by picking an AWD vehicle that can accelerate very quickly. This way, you won’t have to move away from the site to build up speed like you would with a weaker or heavier car.

To save even more time, load up the custom solar panels map by CCROWNY by entering the Share Code we have listed above in the Custom Events Lab. This custom map will have nothing but solar panels waiting for you to destroy, which all count towards the solar panel requirement for your specific event.

Overall, solar panel-related events don’t take too much effort and time to complete, as long as you know where to find the solar panel and take note of the event requirements, such as the type of vehicle required and the time limit (if applicable).

For the most part, you can just take your favorite sub-1000 horsepower AWD car and head over to the solar panel facility on the map to smash those solar panels as quickly as possible.

So, there we have it! We hope that through this guide, we have given you a good idea and the necessary knowledge about Solar Panels and the best cars you can use for smashing them in Forza Horizon 5.
