Tokyo Xtreme Racer’s Early Access period ends today, which means you’ve only got a few hours to grab the game at the bargain $29.99 price before it jumps to $49.99.

Tomorrow marks the ‘Full Release’ rollout on Steam, so if you’ve been on the fence, now’s going to be your last chance to pull the trigger.

If the timing of TXR’s Early Access release is anything to go by, the full game could arrive at 16:00 JST, which would be 03:00 ET / 00:00 PT / 08:00 UK on September 25.

Anyone who purchases the Early Access version at the discounted rate before the release will be automatically upgraded to the full version when it rolls out.

We feel the game’s worth every penny, even at full price, so don’t sleep on this one!

Why TXR is a must-have for any JDM fan

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you would’ve heard about TXR’s shock revival in January this year after nearly two decades of absence.

While it’s not a drifting game, it’s the perfect highway racer for any JDM enthusiast, and we highly recommend checking out what it offers.

Don’t just take our word for it, either. Here’s what HokiHoshi has to say about the reboot:

YouTube video

I couldn’t help but notice the top comment on the video from @ZedNinetySix_, which sums up my thoughts perfectly: “Finally, a racer game actually made for what people wanted, and not made for a corporate boardroom meeting.”

It’s now better than ever, with official JDM car licenses (thankfully, they finally silenced the Honda fanboys!)

On top of that, we’ve been seeing new tuning and aero companies being announced on their socials nearly every day recently.

The team has shown how a successful Early Access period should look (others may want to take note!) They’ve constantly listened to fans and provided frequent updates with exactly what people asked for.

While a few features are delayed for the initial full release, the team prioritized sticking to their promise of a September 25 rollout, with additional features arriving shortly after.

This is likely why we’re still hearing the next question…

Will it be coming to consoles?

Although there’s been no official confirmation yet, the team has dropped some hints, and it looks more likely than ever that we’ll see TXR announced for consoles soon after the full release.

The game is perfect for console play, and until this Steam Early Access version, all past games in the franchise had been console-only.

While fans have repeatedly been requesting Xbox and PlayStation console releases, it makes sense that Genki wants to conclude the Early Access period and iron out the niggles – maybe add those delayed features – before it comes to console.
