An accidental, quickly-deleted leak just provided the most likely hint yet that the Forza Horizon series is finally coming to Japan for ‘the next Forza’, expected to be Forza Horizon 6.

As we’ve covered previously, Japan has consistently been the most requested location by fans for the Forza Horizon series since the series’ inception.

The home of drifting would be the perfect location for the series, given its incredible diversity, from the twisty touge mountain roads to the bustling modern cities. That’s before we even get thinking about the epic JDM cars we’d get to drift past on the streets.

Awkwardly, an Australian car import company just accidentally provided the most likely hint to date that Playground Games might finally make the fans’ dreams come true.

The leak originated from ‘Cult & Classic’ (an Australian JDM car importer) on their Instagram account, before being quickly deleted. Clearly, someone hadn’t passed on the memo that this was a top-secret project, and we’re hoping no one got fired!

Unsurprisingly, given the magnitude of the news, a screengrab immediately surfaced in the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit from u/RexSonic with the title, “Australian car import company Cult & Classic may have just confirmed FH6 in a now-deleted Instagram post”.

Whoops! Although Cult & Classic quickly deleted the post, screenshots had already surfaced online.

The Instagram post stated that “Cody” (likely Cody Saunders) was at Cult & Classic to shoot cars for the “next installation in the series.”

His LinkedIn profile states his role at Turn 10 is to “Coordinate and perform 3D scans of vehicles and aftermarket parts around the world for digital recreation.” You can also view many Forza Horizon 5 screenshots on the “3D Scanning” section of his portfolio.

The caption in the leak further confirms, “As there are no late-model Kei cars in America, he has flown out from the states to use our cars as the basis for their digital versions.”

Although the post didn’t specifically name Japan as the official setting, the effort they’re going through to scan these unique Kei cars specifically is undoubtedly the strongest hint we’ve got so far that FH6 will be set in Japan.

Despite the stronger-than-ever hints from the leak, there’s still no official announcement or release date for Forza Horizon 6 from Microsoft or Playground Games.

The closest we’ve got so far is the news that “the next Forza” is coming in 2026 from Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft Gaming.

This is widely believed to be the next Forza Horizon title, especially given that Xbox is seemingly focusing less than ever on Forza Motorsport, and recently laid off a huge chunk of staff working on the project.

Alongside the confirmation, there have been other strong hints that Japan is more likely than ever recently, including the much-loved Japanese touge track, Fujimi Kaido, resurfacing in the Forza Motorsport series after nearly 15 years.
