GTA 6 Trailer 2 Drops Following Release Delay – Good News For Forza Horizon Fans?
Following the confirmed 2026 delay, Rockstar drops the mind-blowing GTA 6 Trailer 2. Will the date shift pave the way for an upcoming Forza Horizon 6 release?
Rockstar Games has finally blessed the fans (seemingly the entire world at this point) with the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, and it’s as crazy as you’d expect. In just 24 hours, it’s racked up a bonkers 65 million views.
The obvious downside that came before the trailer everyone was waiting for is the newly confirmed May 26, 2026, release date (assuming they even pull that one off!)
With the main title stepping out of 2025’s release calendar (which almost every major game feared clashing with), could we now see some surprises emerge later this year?

Vice City Never Looked So Good
The new trailer focuses on the latest “power couple” – Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos (Bonnie and Clyde, if you like!), the criminal duo at the heart of GTA 6.
After Jason picks Lucia up following her stint in prison, their story starts as they get back to action, with a simple job going sideways, pulling them into something much bigger in the fictional state of Leonida (based on Florida).
While the storyline looks fascinating, and we can’t wait to dive into it, the visuals stole the show (for us, at least!)
The lighting, reflections, and environmental details make this easily the most visually impressive game trailer we’ve ever seen. Every location looks absolutely mind-blowing, from neon-soaked Vice City streets to the swampy backwaters of Florida’s (sorry, Leonida’s) countryside.
While we got teased by how drifting will look in the game in Trailer 1, that was sorely missed this time, besides a truck being forced sideways from the attached concrete bollard. (As you do!)
However, we did get a taste of more vehicles that’ll feature in the game, with confirmation that brands such as Vapid (Ford) and a pimped-out Benefactor (Mercedes) return, along with plenty of supercars.
Despite all this, many unanswered questions remain about what to expect when we finally get our hands on it, and it still feels a long way off.
The Long Wait Ahead…
May 26, 2026, is a long way off, making it more than a decade after GTA 5’s original release. Rockstar’s perfectionist standards are as high as ever, and we’re all for them making the game as incredible as possible.
The recent “Early Access” trends are getting tiring, and we’re sure it’ll be worth the wait when it eventually arrives.
Now that it’s confirmed, the delay creates a massive gap in the gaming calendar, especially for the remainder of 2025. Almost every potential game release was on hold due to GTA’s planned fall release.
Here’s what we think is coming next. If it happens, it will be welcome news for drifting fans!
Will Forza Horizon 6 Fill The 2025 Void?
Things get (even more) interesting with the drifters’ favorite, Forza Horizon 6, which has been the subject of plenty of release date speculation in recent months.
With Fable 4 (produced by Horizon developer, Playground Games) facing recent delays and rumors pointing to a Forza announcement at June’s Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft now seems perfectly positioned to claim 2025’s open-world crown.
The timing makes perfect sense, and everything falls perfectly into place if you review the historical Horizon releases.
Every previous Horizon game followed the same pattern – announced in June and released that same year (typically September). Forza Horizon 2, 3, and 4 launched in September following June reveals, while Horizon 5 arrived in November, which also came after a June announcement.
Microsoft would be smart to capitalize on the freshly provided opportunity. With Horizon 5 recently expanding to PlayStation (building up fresh hype for the otherwise declining series), a new Xbox/PC exclusive could get the ball back in Microsoft’s court.
For fans of drifting games disappointed by GTA’s distant release, it’ll offer a welcome alternative for open-world action while they wait.
Sure, it won’t have bank robberies or turf wars, but Horizon’s blend of drifting, drag, and grip racing, tuning, exploration, and gorgeous environments still offers plenty to enjoy.
Whether Forza Horizon 6 finally heads to Japan, returns to Europe, or explores entirely new territory, its potential 2025 release looks more likely than ever. For drifting fans, the gap might be a blessing in disguise as they wait for GTA!
