Tokyo Xtreme Racer Confirms Another Honda – And It’s Probably the One You Hoped For
Just one day after Tokyo Xtreme Racer finally confirmed Honda’s long-awaited arrival with the NSX, it looks like the Civic fanboys’ prayers may have been answered.
Yesterday, Genki (the team behind TXR) revealed that Honda will officially join the series for the first time. Despite many fans remembering that ‘Honda’ featured in past TXR games, these were unlicensed vehicles.
Now, after months of rumors and speculation, they’ve got the real deal. Honda joins numerous other legendary JDM manufacturers for the upcoming Version 1.0 on PC, set to arrive in September.

At the end of the Nissan GT-R reveal, Genki’s usual teaser had an obvious car lurking in the shadows, along with the caption “4:00 PM Japan Time, 2025-08-29 (Fri)”. The huge news sent the fans into a frenzy on social media.
True to their word, the official unveiling of the Honda NSX Type S Zero (NA2) arrived at 3 AM ET, while America was sleeping!

When I covered the piece yesterday, I ended with “Could the Civic be next? We won’t have long to find out.” Needless to say, it doesn’t look like it was too long!
Here’s what’s coming next:

It’s not as immediately obvious as yesterday’s NSX teaser, which has left some fans speculating that it’s the Integra DC2.
However, we’re feeling confident it’s the silhouette of the Honda Civic EK9 Type R!

Assuming we’re correct, this is the current list of cars we’ll be treated to when the full release arrives:
- Honda Civic Type R (EK9)
- Honda NSX Type S Zero (NA2)
- Nissan GT-R (R35)
- Toyota Celsior
- Toyota GR Supra
- Nissan “Hakosuka” Skyline 2000GT-R (KPGC10)
- Nissan Fairlady Z (Nissan Z)
- Lexus RC F Track Edition
- Lexus LC500
- Toyota GR Yaris
Genki has continued to listen to fans throughout the PC Early Access period, and we’ve been genuinely impressed by the numerous changes and improvements they’ve continued to roll out.
Having Honda added is the icing on the cake for many fans. Will we soon get the cherry on top with a release on PlayStation and Xbox consoles once Early Access is over?
Given how perfectly suited the TXR series is to console platforms, we’re optimistic that it’ll return to its roots. First, they’ll likely need to iron out the niggles with the Version 1.0 release in September. Here’s what you can expect when the full version arrives.
In case you’ve somehow missed the hype surrounding the Tokyo Xtreme Racer reboot following its 18-year hiatus, we highly recommend checking it out:
