EVENT: KD European Drift Lousada 2012 Part II
After attending the annual Lousada drift event for the past few years you think I'd be prepared for the mental and physical onslaught that is shooting it. Don't get me wrong, I love drifting but after 18 hours solid of it, followed by four to five hours sleep I was less than 'chipper' when the alarm sounded for day two of the event. Come 9:00am I was back at the track, batteries full, memory cards empty, enthusiasm slightly less than brimming....but at least I had coffee. -

or those who don’t know, Touge is the Japanese word for a winding mountain road. That is where the drifting started. It is currently the fastest growing motorsport and certainly every fan of drifting would love to see a competition on winding mountain roads. Surely this is the same thing that inspired organizers of the Polish Drifting Championship (DMP) last year, who decided to do a round in Karpacz, the small town located in the Polish mountains… -

Trax is a show that caters for all aspects of the car scene and only has time slots for a Super Pro Top 16 - but its by no means a display. The points gained here today count for the 2012 championship and with only one more round to go after this opportunities to up your points quota are running out. -

LIVESTREAM: Formula Drift 2012: Round Six: Afterdark
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway plays host to Formula DRIFT. The "Diamond in the Desert" is just outside the Vegas Strip and has hosted events such as NASCAR, IndyCar, NHRA and more recently Formula DRIFT. The custom built course is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, drifting circuits in the world. With a very high-speed triple entry, drivers are pushed to put their fears behind them and risk it all when entering the first turn. -

I'm sure I say it every year but, what an amazing year! Believe it or not we're heading into our third year of Drifted here, an idea that was rather hastily conceived back in November 2009 to fill a void we saw in good quality, self generated drift coverage and content. The key phrases for us were, and still are, self-generated and quality. My favourite shots of 2011 may not all contain drifting as you know it, but for me they sum up the feelings and emotions experienced this year in drifting. -

Formula Drift Las Vegas is known amongst the drift media as one of the trickiest events to shoot, photography-wise. Ridiculous desert heat combined with an all-night event, bright headlamps and no high vantage points to shoot from make it a real task. The conditions test both photographer and camera.
